Former Republican Rep. Allen West of Texas pushed back on Pope Francis' criticism of President Donald Trump by comparing deportations to God expelling Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden.
During a Monday Real America's Voice segment about the death of Pope Francis, host Steve Gruber noted that the late pontiff had been critical of Trump and former President Joe Biden.
"The Pope not only criticized Donald Trump for his stance on deporting illegals, he also took issue with Joe Biden and Democrats' position on abortion," he told West.

West disagreed with the Pope's condemnation of Trump's deportations.
"Well, it's pretty interesting, because if you know your Bible, even God understood, you know, borders and boundaries, and so, when he expelled Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, he set forth an angel with a sword of fire to prevent them from coming back in," the former lawmaker said.
"So, I think it's important that we understand and we respect the rule of law and, as Christ said, render unto Caesar what is Caesar and render unto God what is God," he added. "So, I think it's really important that you not get caught up in the social climate, but you continue as a leader in the church to speak toward God's Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ."
