'Covered up': GOP Sen Ron Johnson suggests 9/11 was an inside job

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) joined 9/11 conspiracy theorists who believe that the 2001 terrorist attack was an inside job.

During a Monday interview with MAGA influencer Benny Johnson, the senator noted that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was working to uncover the "truth" about COVID-19.

"That's just in one area," he said. "I've been following you. You're starting to open up the aperture on 9/11 — World Trade Center number 7. You know what the firefighters are telling us. I think that's something that needs to be explored as well."

A theory shared by some conspiracy groups claims World Trade Center 7 was brought down on 9/11 through a controlled demolition, rather than from damage sustained during the terrorist attacks.

"And I know you and I will both be considered conspiracy theorists, but that's exactly how they keep this stuff covered up, is they accuse those of us that want to expose the truth that we're just a bunch of conspiracy theorists," the Wisconsin Republican added.

The MAGA host agreed: "Every firefighter inside of those buildings was saying, including Donald Trump, was saying that this official narrative cannot be true."
