Laura Loomer rages at Senate GOP leader: ‘1.4 Million Illegals on Medicaid?’

One of President Donald Trump's most faithful MAGA influencers is enraged at the Senate GOP for the state of negotiations on Trump's "big, beautiful bill" to slash taxes on the wealthy.

In particular, she is against how the Medicaid cuts are going.

"How on earth did Senate Majority Leader John Thune @LeaderJohnThune just allow for 1.4 Million illegal aliens to stay on Medicaid? Unbelievable," she raged in a post on X.

Unauthorized immigrants are already not eligible for Medicaid; however, the initial draft of the Senate's version of the bill had duplicative extra restrictions designed ostensibly to ensure none are enrolled.

This was one of a number of provisions tossed out by the Senate parliamentarian for violating the "Byrd Rule," which requires that budget bills serve strictly budgetary purposes.

Some GOP activists are calling on the Senate to invoke the nuclear option and override the parliamentarian's decision. However, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has ruled this out in all but a handful of cases, fearful that excessive use of this power would effectively eliminate the filibuster and give Democrats greater power when they achieve a majority.

Loomer, a self-professed "Proud Islamophobe" and white nationalist sympathizer who has suggested feeding immigrants to alligators, has often had the ear of Trump, much to the chagrin of his other allies, with even far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) describing her as a racist.

Loomer has also blasted the GOP for cutting Medicaid too much in general.
