Tech billionaire Elon Musk acknowledged Tuesday that criticism of him was "valid" after an individual called him out on his X platform over his obsession with "looking cool."
Musk posted a series of rants Monday about the 2026 budget bill, drawing responses, some of which he answered on Tuesday.
Musk claimed in the first post, "Hitting the debt ceiling is the only thing that will actually force the government to cut waste and fraud. That’s why the debt ceiling legislation exists!"
In fact, each time the government reaches the debt ceiling, Congress raises it. Regardless of the party in charge, each has voted to raise the debt ceiling.
An individual named Jim Spradlin with fewer than 1,000 followers responded to Musk, saying, "Maybe you shouldn't have taken the chainsaw on stage and acted a fool. Maybe you could have gotten more done if you weren't so worried about looking cool."
A humbled Musk agreed, in part, saying it was a "valid point."
He confessed that he was handed the chainsaw backstage by Argentina's President Javier Milei and simply "ran with it."
"But, in retrospect, it lacked empathy," said Musk.
"It was a turning point, bro," responded Spradlin. "I still love ya and everything you do, but we need to stand together. The globalists used that moment as a scare tactic and to divide us."
Musk is angry that Congress passed a funding bill that adds significantly to the national debt, despite Musk's months-long effort to slash staff and spending in the federal government.
