Show HN: Weatheristic.com to answer questions other weather sites don't

I built this for myself. I often have questions I want quick answers to such as "how cold did it get last night?", "I just put down fertilizer, when will it rain next?", "is today unusually cold or warm for this time of year?" Weather sites I tried made me dig for those answers, if they were there at all (the last few days of weather often can't be found).

I used to watch a few stocks closely, and Weatheristic is actually inspired by those types of charts. It has day/night bands with an ultra easy to understand temp trend line, and you can zoom and scroll. I added data I'm interested in, such as a typical high/low band, record high/low for today, moon phases, and various other items in the Overlays dropdown.

One deliberate choice: the temperature scale doesn’t rescale. It stays at roughly -4F to 86F (−20C to 30C) most of the time, so the line’s height on the y-axis tells you how warm it is before you read a number. So if the graph seems off center to you, that's by design.

Data comes from Open-Meteo. The historical records come from their reanalysis archive, which is modelled data rather than weather-station readings, so daily extremes might be a bit off. It’s a static D3 site. No account, no ads, no cookies. I count visits with self-hosted Plausible (cookieless, no personal data; it lives at analytics.povodex.com because I run it for my other projects too).

I use this every day, love it, and I’d love to know if anyone else likes this format.
