Trump picks WWE co-founder for major Cabinet role: report

Donald Trump has chosen his campaign co-chair, Linda McMahon, to lead the Department of Education, CNN reported Tuesday afternoon.

The department has been flagged for dismantling or major overhaul by Project 2025 and even the president-elect himself.

McMahon and her husband, Vince, co-founded the World Wrestling Entertainment company, where she later became president and CEO.

During Trump's first term, she was confirmed to be administrator of the Small Business Administration.

She was appointed to the State Board of Education in Connecticut by Republican Gov. Jodi Rell in 2009.

Trump has characterized the Department of Education as promoting "wokeness" and leftist ideologies in schools. He has also said it indoctrinates students with inappropriate content related to race and gender.

“We will move everything back to the states, where it belongs,” Trump has said, according to The New York Times. “They can individualize education and do it with the love for their children.”
