'Disgusting': Nikki Haley unloads as she highlights key 'issues' with Trump's nominees

Donald Trump's vanquished Republican primary foe has fighting words when it comes to the president-elect's top Cabinet picks.

The former United Nations ambassador on Wednesday lashed out against Fox News host Pete Hegseth and former Reps. Matt Gaetz and Tulsi Gabbard on her podcast "Nikki Haley Live."

"There's gonna be a lot of issues getting Matt Gaetz confirmed as attorney general," said Haley. "It's hard to start a confirmation when you have allegations of illicit drug use and sex parties with minors."

Interestingly, Gaetz was not one of two appointments Haley chose to speak out against in great detail. Her ire was directed first at Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Trump wants Kennedy to lead Health and Human Services, which Haley noted receives 25 percent of the federal budget, oversees more than 80,000 employees and includes the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health.

Kennedy has no professional background in health and, as a frustrated Haley noted, has spent much of his life as a Democrat and speaking against major polluters such as the coal industry.

"He's a liberal democrat, environmental attorney, trial lawyer who will now be overseeing 25 percent of our federal budget and has no background in healthcare," Haley said. "Some of you may think RFK is cool...He's not a health guy."

Haley then directed her gaze at Gabbard, Trump's choice for director of national intelligence and another former Democrat.

The former U.N. ambassador noted Gabbard would be responsible for a $100 billion annual spy budget and deciding which national secrets should be declassified.

"This is a job for an honest broker," said Haley.

Haley took umbrage with Gabbard's opposition to sanctions on Iran and her comment that Trump had turned the U.S. into "Saudi Arabia's prostitute."

But it was Gabbard's relationship with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, whom she held responsible for children killed in internal chemical attacks, that had Haley sputtering with rage.

"She went to Syria in 2017 for a photo-op with Bashar al-Assad while he was massacring his own people," Haley said. "She said she was skeptical that he was behind the chemical weapons attacks. Now this to me is disgusting."
