House Republicans are scrambling to prevent a government shutdown after tech billionaire Elon Musk forced them to scrap a bipartisan continuing resolution with primary challenge threats, and the GOP hastily cobbled together a partisan package to replace it, only to have key Republican members defect anyway.
But far-right Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) tried to argue in a Thursday evening speech on the House floor that the shutdown is Democrats' fault.
And she was instantly shouted down with heckling and rage from the Democratic side.
Her speech got off to a rocky start when she opened by effusing praise for President-elect Donald Trump, who took Musk's side to blow up the bipartisan spending agreement, and demanded order as Democrats heckled her.
"Excuse me! I’m not done talking!" she said. "Give me the same respect we give you guys."

She then tried to explain how Democrats were at fault for a looming shutdown even after Republicans rejected a bipartisan bill and struggled to secure enough votes from their own caucus to pass an all-Republican replacement for the bill they rejected.
"The deal on the table will keep the government open for the American people, and if you guys so choose to shut it down, it will be on you but not the Republican Party," she said. "We will not be going back to the table, this deal stands as it is, so you go back home on Christmas and explain to your people why you shut down the government, because we won't be doing it."
Shouts and anger erupted once again.
To cap it all off, Luna's speech was followed by a fiery denouncement of the bill by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), who blasted his own party for spending irresponsibly.
