Marjorie Taylor Greene sends 'urgent' constituent survey asking if Musk should be speaker

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) sent her constituents in Georgia an "urgent" survey on Thursday to ask if billionaire Elon Musk should be speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

In a "time sensitive" email, Greene noted that the House of Representatives controlled government spending "and can cut programs."

"DOGE could become the legislative branch," she added, referring to Musk's Department of Government Efficiency.

"Would you support Elon Musk for Speaker of the House?" Greene asked. "Please respond ASAP."

Earlier on Thursday, Greene said she was "open to supporting" Musk as speaker after he worked to derail a spending bill that would have averted a government shutdown before the Christmas holiday.
