There is a "break" from Donald Trump happening among Republican lawmakers, according to a congressional insider who broke down the recent votes for a bill to fund the federal government.
United States Representative Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA), who previously called out President-elect Donald Trump's "incoherent" plans for immigration on CNN, appeared on MSNBC on Saturday.
The host asked Dean about Elon Musk and Trump, as well as about the dynamics between Republicans and the former and incoming president.

Dean said that, when the bill passed late last evening, 34 Republicans said no.
"It was a unanimous Democratic caucus. We must fund the government. It does not work for the American people when the government gets shut down," she said, adding that it is "telling." Dean clarified that she isn't a friend to Trump, but was asked to speak from her conversations with her colleagues on the other side of the aisle.
"There is a break from Mr. Trump that is growing in the Republican majority," she added. "Remember, when we come back as the majority, it will be two seats, two votes. Mr. Trump and Mr. Musk are in for an interesting ride. Sadly, the American people are, too. We should have never have been in this position. You don't turn your term paper in one day before Christmas. This is funding the United States government. This is paying federal workers. It's irresponsible and extraordinarily reckless."
