MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace was up close and personal with former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) when she worked for the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), and even she misses Palin over the likes of Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD).
Wallace and her panel discussed Noem's confirmation hearing on Friday, focusing on what she called a "lack of competence" from Noem.
She showed a clip in which newly sworn-in Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) asked whether Noem would support the president unilaterally sending the military into a state without coordinating with the state's governor.

Noem fumbled the question, rambling for a bit and not answering the question.
"You know, senator, the my job, if nominated and sworn in as Secretary of Homeland Security, is to uphold the Constitution and to —"
"So you will push back?" Slotkin interjected.
"Yes," Noem insisted. "That will be the oath and the pledge that I will be making. And my goal also is to work with you to ensure that we have situations that are always appropriate, that we are well defined."
When the clip ended, Wallace fact-checked the start of Noem's comment and informed her, "She's already been nominated."
"She makes me miss Sarah Palin," Wallace lamented.
Alicia Menendez, opposite Wallace at the time, responded with wide eyes.
Wallace called Slotkin's questions "flash points that are going to erupt" as Trump implements his plan for mass deportations.
Menendez pointed out that while Noem was appointed to DHS, her talking points indicate she'll be solely concerned about immigration and the U.S.-Mexico border.
"In reality, the mission of DHS is to secure the nation from the many threats we face," she continued. "Emphasis on many. You wouldn't know, for example, that she's going to be in charge of FEMA. You wouldn't know that she's in charge of America's cybersecurity."
